YouTubing Brodmann Area 12

YouTube is a useful repository for video material with tailored searches often returned useful educational material. More specialised subjects return fewer results and with that in mind i’ve undertaken a search for video material on the Brodmann Areas. The human cerebral cortex is immensely complicated and a renowned neurologist Dr Korbinian Brodmann derived a classification system for this complex structure which was basd on the microscopic properties of the brain tissue. This resulted in the eponymous Brodmann Area classification. So with a combination of classification scheme and a video repository a useful question to ask is whether there is relevant video material on the Brodmann Areas. For other areas, I have asked this question and the interested reader is directed to the resources in the Appendix. The question posed here is whether YouTube would return any relevant material for ‘Brodmann Area 12’. A search was conducted on YouTube using the search term ‘Brodmann Area 12’ and although it returned a number of results, none of these were relevant to the search question. The search could have been expanded using broader terms such as the Frontal Cortex but these have been included in the early articles on Brodmann Areas (the series is covering the Brodmann Areas in numerical order). So for the time being, my search of YouTube didn’t produce any interesting material on Brodmann Area 12.
