The IACP’s Alzheimer’s Initiative – Missing People

awarenessThe International Association of Chiefs of Police has an initiative for people with Dementia of Alzheimer’s Type who are missing. The initiative is focused on America and you can navigate to the relevant state by clicking on the map. Clicking through on some of the states leads through to a generic missing person’s list. The initiative has utility not just in Dementia of Alzheimer’s Type but other types of Dementia and conditions which impair cognition. People with Dementia may go missing if they wander and get lost. Initiatives such as this are very useful and may in the future be linked with crowdsourcing solutions to aid the recovery of missing persons.
