Gene Candidates for MRI Phenotypes

In a paper by Sarnowski and colleagues, the researchers investigated subjects in the Framingham Heart study using data from whole genome analyses and MRI brain scans. They found evidence of several candidate genes for MRI phenotypes. These included

LRRTM4 – associated with Hippocampal Volume

ALCAM – White Matter Hyperintensities

UBL3 – Total Cerebral Brain Volume

There are seven other gene candidates with MRI phenotypes discussed in the paper.
