Sigmund Freud at the far left of the bottom row
Sigmund Freud is the father of modern Psychiatry. His writings left a profound impact on culture and academic study. For medical students and doctors considering Psychiatry, reading about Freud is a very helpful starting point. Whilst much has changed since Freud’s time, his ability to develop the concept of the mind and integrate this with established neurology is testimony to his versatility and lasting impact. I have produced an index of the Freud posts on this blog here.
