The Brain Hypometabolism Hypothesis Part 17: Brain Glucose Utilisation in the T3DM

In her 2014 paper, Dr de la Monte discusses the concept of Type 3 Diabetes which I refer to here as the Type 3 Diabetes Model (T3DM). Dr de la Monte refers to the effects of glucose uptake and underutilisation in the brain as three-fold

(a) Oxidative stress

(b) Impaired homeostasis

(c) Cell death
